Tips on Tipping

We're staying at the Movenpick.

Which staff should we tip daily and which staff should we tip at the end of the holiday.

We normally just tip at the end of each week (just really to avoid carrying money around) but get the feeling that some staff here should be tipped daily instead?

Is it worth tipping the pool guys at the start of the holiday to make sure we get our sunbeds, etc or again is it better to do daily?

What's the recommended amount to tip and do you give it in Dollars, Egyptian pounds or sterling?

Hi Sharon

At the Hyatt they rotate the staff around the beach and pools every 3 days so tipping daily is best, in the hotel the staff work for a block of seven weeks then get a week off.

I tipped the staff if having a snack which we paid for each day and then tipped the man who cleaned our room, the waiters who look after you most in the main restaurants in the evening and any one else who stands out at the end of your stay.

The basic salary for these staff is £60 Sterling a month so tipping is greatly appreciated by the staff and generally well deserved.
