North or South Goa?

We're thinking of going to Goa in Feb/March but can't decide South or North, the reviews I've seen say South quiet & taxi drivers a nightmare ! North more commercialised.

Any info?

It all depends what you are looking for in a holiday, if you want total relaxation and peace and quiet on deserted beaches choose South Goa. Iif you want to see a bit more action and have a fantastic choice of bars and restaurants choose North. If it's any help, I've been every year for the past thirteen and would not dream of choosing South.

Re Goagirl, we've been for past 5 years just south of the airport and it's been fantastic. Yes if you want plenty of bars with loud music go north, if it's the quieter chill out atmosphere you're after go south - there's usually still a good choice of shacks on the beach to spend the evening. Wherever, I'm sure you'll find the people friendly - no problem with taxi drivers for sure, they will stay with you all day if you want for around 10. We also go Feb/March, don't leave it too late in MArch though as it starts to get humid.
