The domestic airlines used to let you take the extra free if you were coming off an international flight. But lately people who have flown down to Goa have been charged if they were over the 20kg limit.

You could try asking Emirates if they have an agreement with any of the Indian domestic airlines and then booking accordingly.

Unfortunately BA has an agreement with Kingfisher at the moment...

If you join the sky miles club of emirates, you will be able to use their partner airlines and they will allow you the 30kg allowance.

irish,, have used emirates menny time down to bombay there the best,, the aircraft thay have used when we used them, see if you can find the one your on on SEAT GURU,, we allways got the back two window seats there in the 2,seats,not the three and thay do recline, and theres no one at the back of you which,is good,,yes emirates, allow you 30 k,the domestic,s dont ,thats for sure, dont know what airline you thinking of useing for the bombay leg . look.on air/india site or skyscanner,, for the best prices a few days ago thay were asking about 75 pound each return from, bombay to goa,,,BUT its deff better you ask, when booking your flight what there baggage allow is,,in saying this was told here in the uk,by airindia, that there allow was 20k, emirates 30k prob,,so packed less this was from dubai,to goa,,checked in with airindia in dubia for the flight to goa was told 25k no prob,,,so,enyway like said ask and make sure you know,,before you pack, thay all prob diff, maybe,,,,, if booking on line thay will prob email you what you want to know thats the airline you book your ticket with,so you can print it of and take with you if eny probs you gotb what you were told by them,,,,but i would say 20k a av,for the dom, airlines,,,eny way you will deff enjoy, your flight with emirates,,,,,,have fun byeeeeeee

We flew Jet and Kingfisher internally last year, was over by about 11kg out and 16kg on the way back and didn't get charged by either airline. We may have just been lucky?

We travelled back to the UK with Jet a couple of days ago and they would not except our case that weighed 25.5 kg, had to repack our three cases to get down to their 23 kg per case limit, lucky one case only weighed 20 kg so just moved the contents about and had to get the cases x-rayed and sealed again but that was done by one of their staff while we stayed at the check-in desk.

We knew we was Ok for weight as our allowance was 46 kg each but have never had the 23 kg limit per case applied so rigidly before
