Certain occupations and letters to High Commission

I know this has been covered before, but I thought it was worth a reminder. I took our applications in to the visa office this morning and for the first time was asked to provide a letter from my husband's employer to say that he wouldn't be undertaking any work-related activities while he's on holiday. He's CEO of a very small, local charity here in London. The girl at the VFS desk said they don't differentiate between social workers/service delivery staff and what is effectively an administrative role, so if you work for a charity, better to take a letter with you from your employer.

if you have a respectable job like butcher baker plumber there is no problem however government workers police and spongers of the state are considered undesirables and need a letter
