Goa availabilty in December/xmas

Does anyone know if the availability in Goa for flights and hotels is particularly bad in December? Hoping to go on 26th December but where ever I look, there seems to be no hotels etc available. Most sites dont let you book more than a year in advance so couldnt look until end of Jan but now all hotels seem to be unavailable! any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

The reason you are having difficulty is probably due to the date you have chosen which is a Tuesday. Most charter flights from the UK go on a weekend. If you look at either 23rd Dec or 30th Dec, you will find that there is availibilty, Manos for example have plenty of choice. The other way to do it would be to fly schedule via Bombay and then you would have more flexibilty in the date you want to travel.

Hope this helps.

I have just booked a flight today to Goa on 25th December. BA and Virgin have flights to Mumbai for ã450 and then you can get an internal flight with jet airways or kingfisher for about ã100 - much better than a monarch flight direct. The connecting flight takes an hour and the total cost is ã600.

\Can I also add that flying scheduled via Mumbai is heaven compared to flying Charter you actually have room to move!!. We flew back with Virgin last year via Dehli and the flight was absolutely wonderful, through no fault of ours we only had 15 minutes to get through immigration, customs and check in but as they had been forewarned the 12 passengers on the same flight as ours which was delayed, were waved through baggage checked in , boarded and the flight still took off on time.

First Choice fly on a Tuesday (well, for this season they do). Try checking availability with a travel agent or with FC themselves for next season.

Christmas and New Year are the most busy and expensive times to visit Goa. Indians from the cities are also holidaying there. Even if you go via Mumbai, you would be best booking your connecting flights as early as possible.
