Not too sure what happens but if you are taking about duty free cigs and sprits but we do not bother buying either of them on plane or in Manchester as they are MUCH cheaper once you are in Goa, depending on brand of cigs you can buy two hundred for less than £4..... yep, thats less than £4 for two hundred!

And vodka/brandy/rum (certain brands) ect ect for about £2 per 750ml bottle!!!

Enjoy....

You can't take alcohol into DOHA...it's cheaper in GOA...but tobacco is very cheap, and you know it's the real stuff compared to GOA.

You are ok with duty free cigs but any liquids would be taken off you, unless you check them in as hold luggage. We had to do that at Heathrow once before we could board or Leeds conecting flight, luckly we had a small case for hand luggage so we put it in that and checked it in.Cigs are cheaper in Doha too, plus you can buy most spirits.

You're not allowed to carry more than 100ml on board an aircraft, so if you buy duty free from Manchester then it will be taken off you in Doha.

Yes, any alcohol bought at Manchester should be stored in your belly before landing at Doha.

When we flew via Doha they would not sell us alcohol in duty free in England because we were stopping in Doha which is a dry state

Just to correct pinkdog, this has nothing to do with Doha being in a 'dry state'. Doha duty free sells alcohol, and I suspect it disallows dutyfree from the UK to pass through it because it wants to encourage passengers to buy duty free in Doha. Not even bottles stored in sealed duty free bags will escape.

The one area where alcohol would be cheaper to buy in the UK or in duty free shops would be wine. Expensive and poorly stored in Goa.

the duty free at india is the cheapest for alcohol and you can bring in your own ciggi from your home town as all brands might not be available in Goa airport duty free

best to buy the booze from Goa duty free
