Elephant shop beside magnum resort. Depends how much you use it depends on how long they last. Passport needed.

Best place in Candolim is one of the Elephant shops (there are 2 of them run by brothers). You will need to take either your passport or a copy. If you take your original passport they will copy it for you.

The credit does last for a while but if you go back to Goa again after a few months there is a good chance that the number will have been disconnected so best not to have too much credit left on it.

The card itself doesn't cost much and they usually ask you how much credit you want adding. It's up to you really. You could be up and running for around 400-500 rupees (£5-£6). The credit on this should last a couple of weeks.

I find the Elephant shop by Magnum best as they are good with Phone settings too. You'll need a passport photo and your passport or a copy of the passport photo page and Indian visa. As a guide paid Rs600 last year for a sim that included 500mb of data as well as phone credit. This lasted us all the three weeks we were there. Used internet too , including skype / whatsapp and viber. You can also top up if required , think the minimum was Rs150 (£2).

How long a gap can there be before it is disconnected? Going December and perhaps again in march.
