Homestays in Gujarat

Can anyone recommend good homestays in Gujarat? I haven't been able to find any via Google.

Are there any UK operators that do good tours to Gujarat or is it better to go independently?

Many thanks but I've already looked at this official site and can't find any details of homestays, only more general information.

If you are going to Bhuj / regions around Bhuj, you can maybe try Devpur Homestay. It's a heritage home; here is their facebook page:

And here is their website:

http://sites.google.com/site/devpurhomestay/

You might also look at Hodka if you want a rural experience but not without too much discomfort:

Where are you going in Gujarat?

In Ahmedabad, this one looks interesting:

It's on my list of places to explore!!

Another popular poster here, cyberhippie, has been to Gujarat and you can ask him for information. You could also read his travel report here:

Hi Deepa,

Many thanks for these suggestions. Both Devpur and Arts Reverie look excellent. We've just started to look at Gujarat so I don't know where we're going yet but wanted to find somewhere more interesting to stay than the hotels.
