Help needed in planning a trip to gujarat

We are planning to visit Gujarat from March 17 - March 25, 2012. We would like to visit the following: Surat, Rajkot, Lodhika, Jamnagar, Bhuj and if possible Kutch. Please let me know what is the best possible arrangement. We did visit Ahmedabad during December. We so all the monuments except for Calico Museum as we were there on December 25th, 2011 and somehow we could not make it. We were only there for one day.

I am confused and am not sure where to start. Should we start from Surat or other destinations. We don't mind using trains/bus for internal travel but am not certain whether we should book from now or wait till we arrive.

How much would a car and driver cost? Any recommendations of a good car and driver?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello,

Assuming that you are entering Gujarat from down South, it would be right to visit Surat first. Catch a train / bus to Rajkot. Here onwards may be best to take a car for your travels. Visit Lodhika and Jamnagar. From here move to Kutch which is the largest district in Gujarat. Bhuj is the dist. headquarters. Spend a few days in Kutch and catch a train out of Kutch.

Best to make train/bus reservations in advance.

Cars, depending on the size and luxury range from 6-12 rs. a km and minimum 300 kms a day.

Have a nice trip.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I think I will start looking into booking flights/trains but do you recommend any good car and driver for the trip once we arrive in Gujarat. Also how much would it cost to rent for eight days trip?

Any recommendations with accommodation etc will also be greatly appreciated. We require western standard toilets/bathrooms and clean rooms. No bugs or crawling ants in the rooms.

What will the weather be in third week of March.

Regards,

If you are comfortable with a small car like Indica or Indigo from Ahmedabad call up Jhonny (0091) 9824361058. He speaks English and you could get him for about 2000 a day.

Sure, you are welcome to Devpur.
