ahmedabad recommended driver & tour also hotel for family

hello everyone! we are traveling to ahmedabad. we would like a driver to drive us around wherever we need to go to. would appreciate if anyone could recommend. also a good tour company to take us for a short tour to sights locally. and finally a decent hotel that wont cost the half our budget lol.we would prefer bed and breakfast as we have 2 small children with us a buffet breakfast would be ideal, but not important. have hard of lemon tree hotel but not sure if its near relief road. hotel should atleast be nice and clean. we staye din a hotel last time cant remember the name but there were street ladies doing thier business in there and it wasnt good :( we would need to have easy walkable access to relief road as we are visiting friends.

thank you.

Have we got a guide for you!! Also a hotel. My wife and I are NGO volunteers in Ahmedabad, staying for 3 months. We landed at the Ritz Inn, half a block from Relief Rd. It's right next door to Modi Mahal, which has both veg and non-vegetarian food. Go upstairs for family dining. Downstairs if for men only; we didn't know, ate there four times. Really enjoyed it too. The Ritz Inn is quite nice -- reasonable price (check online specials), comfortable rooms, Art Deco design. Very stylish really. The desk staff is helpful, the doormen are particularly so. There's a bakery shop immediately to the left, so you can grab a picnic lunch for 4 for under 100 Rp. The restaurant is excellent. Their breakfast is a buffet. We enjoyed our dinners there. Prices are fair. Their pineapple raita is not to be missed!

Now, for guides: here is an honest, kind, English-speaking fellow who will not in any way hustle you. His name is Mohammed Malik. For 500 Rupees he will take you everywhere you might want to go -- and show you some things you don't know about -- in A-bad. He took us to the Desai museum (ask him) as well as to the Calico Textile Museum (a must!). They are strict at the Calico, and Mohammed used his Gujarati and soul force to get us in a few minutes late. He's a force of nature! He took us to the most interesting mosques, brought us deep into the most interesting parts of the Old City. He's tireless, loyal, honest and a delight. I just loved this guy and would use him again in a heartbeat. His number is 91-9825945393.

Search no further, your problems are solved. Ritz Inn is on the busy street one block from the train station, but it's truly in the heart of the Old City. A great place to land. You can find another situation later, if need be. Reach Mohammed, and have a ball!!
