Hi Alan Clare,

You may try this, if you find it interesting.

Bangalore - Shravanabelagola - Halebeedu - Belur - Chikmagalur - Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary - Sringeri - Agumbe (Sun rise & set view) - Someshwar - Murudeshwar - Jog Falls - Gokarna - Anshi National Park - Goa

If you feel, there are too many religious places, you may slightly rework the itinerary.

Feel free to revert for any clarifications.

Regards

Hi Alan,

Thought you were driving down in your own vehicle. While these places can definitely done by bus, putting up together is going to take sometime. So, let me know your interests and we will try and work out the modes.

Prasanna,

Thank you again for your kind reply.

Yes, religous sites and nature opportunities are good.

I would like to take the train up to Ooty and visit the palace at Mysore but you may think I should does these as days out from Bangalore.

I am tied in to staying in Bangalore 9 to 13th..

Does this give you a headache..

Thx again

Alan

Hi Alan,

Not at all. I contribute only bcoz I feel I am in that interesting situation. IMO, do Mysore and Ooty separately, if by train. Mysore from Bangalore, as you would know is simple. For a train upto Ooty, you need to do Bangalore to Coimbatore, then transit to Mettupalayam to board the Toy train. But, this service of Toy train, at present is not recommendable, as it doesn't run most of the days or gets struck in the middle. You would be left with the option of train till Coimbatore and either a bus or cab to Ooty. It will now depend on what you want to do. Let me know, as this is interesting.

As you have only 5 nights I think you will need 2 nights in Bangalore and 3 nights in Goa.

Bangalore - Shravanabelagola - Halebeedu - Belur - Chikmagalur - Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary - Sringeri - Agumbe (Sun rise & set view) - Someshwar - Murudeshwar - Jog Falls - Gokarna - Anshi National Park - Goa

the above route is a great mix of cutlure, religion and nature. It can be covered by a mix trains and also a private car. Car ride is more fun as you can explore the region at your pace.

Hi Alan,

I assume we don't link Ooty trip with the trip upto Goa. In that case insert Mysore after Bangalore in my suggestion. Your overnight stays should be Mysore, Chikmagalur, Murudeshwar, Anshi and hurraaay.. Goa.

On the sixth night, you would reach Goa. You may also extend your stay or add on some other destinations, in case you want to extend another night. We can work further based on your feedback.

Hi

To get the true essence of India, one has to experience a bit of its heritage, culture, wildlife & tradition. Not to forget "The Food", at local joints which enhances the travel experience.

BANGALORE: (2 days)

Bangalore is mostly known for its Pubs, Malls, Shopping and Restaurants, like any well developed city. You can consider visiting the usual tourist points like ISKON, Bull Temple, Vidhan Soudha , Bangalore Palace, Lal Bagh, .... etc or just hang out at MG road, Brigade road, Commercial street and visit a few local joints.

Stay in a home stay / Service appt. / Hotel around MG road.

MYSORE & BANDIPUR (2 days)

Do's: Mysore palace, Museum, Ranganathaswamy Temple, Chamundi Temple, Ranganathittu bird sanctuary & Brindavan garden at night, Nanjundeshwara temple in Nanjangud, ‎ Wildlife safari at Bandipur tiger reserve.

GOA - (6 Days)

I would personally recommend all 6 days in Goa :-). There's a lot to see & do in Goa - Beaches, Churches, Culture, Tradition, Wildlife, Casinos, People, etc.

BLR to GOA is 14 to 15 hrs by overnight Train / Bus. Buses ply daily but the train service is on specific days of the week.

NORTH GOA (4 days)- is popular and offers a vibrant atmosphere with great access to restaurants, beach shacks, water sports, street shopping, flee markets, etc. Calangute, Baga, Anjuna & Vagador beach offer variety of accommodation home stays, resorts & boutique hotels. These beaches are less than an hours drive from Panjim, where one can visit the casino, night cruise, churches and few other tourist points.

SOUTH GOA (2 days)- is quaint & peaceful.
