Travel to Wayanad

We are a family of seven travelling to Wayanad around august 15th. Our family comprises elders as well as small kids (about 2-5 yrs old). We plan to stay in Wayanad for one and a half days before proceeding for Alappuzha. Please suggest the best places to see / to do things and hotel options (pure vegetarian) at Wayanad

stay in homestays near kalpetta . they are in coffee estates and you would get homely food especially good for children. Dont miss tholpetty sanctuary there is early morning jeep safari. To find homestays try these two sites mygreatstay dot com or mahindrahomestays dot com

Hi

Please see the following links for all sightseeing places of Wayanad:

tripadvisor.in/…42324257

1. Please note that Kuruva Islands and Meenmutty Waterfalls are closed as of now.

2. Soochipara Waterfalls requires trekking of more than 01 Km from the parking.

3. Place of arrival for your trip can be Calicut (3 hours), Mysore (3 hours), Bangalore (6 hours)

4. If you are travelling to Alapuzha from Wayanad, try the option of direct bus (Overnight journey by luxury Volvo), the most comfortable.

If you are looking for pure vegetarian restaurants : Kalpaka and Uduppi at Sulthan Bathery and Uduppi at Kalpetta.

Thank you Sam for mentioning about the Volvo from Wayanad to Alapuzha. Is there a State run bus or are you mentioning Kallada travels? Please let me know the options available.

Hi

I have mentioned about Kallada Travels. There are buses run by Kerala SRTC as well. No Volvo services.
