If you like "nothing but the best experience while travelling", then monsoon is not the time to visit Kerala.

Deepa_Krishnan is correct. There is chance of rains in Kerala and if you don't rate rains and cold comfortable climate as best experience then this may not be the right time to visit

In the itinerary You can increase 1 night in Thekkady and remove wither Alleppey or Kumarakom for a less hassle free experience without which you may end up spending much of time in the car

Hi

from ehere is your departure.if its from trivandrum it will be fine.if its from kochi you may need to travel very long back to kochi which consumes time and money.you may spend in kumarakom where there is a bird santuary, bay dtift museum, aruvikuzhy falls, option for canoe ride and enjoy a back water resort.you may also spend half day for trivandrum sight seeing.

Since kerala had options for sightseeing for about 3 weeks and if you ask whether you had missed anything i need to say a long list.but within the days you have, you have made maximum from it and if you extra days you may include gavi, varkala, poovar, thenmala, ponmudi, munroe island, vagamon, athirapally, cherai &marari beaches, thrissur, wayanad, calicut etc etc.

You have asked whether you have missed out any place of interest in your Kerala tour. Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, kumarakom, Kovalam, Kanyakumari are the major attractions on the southern side of Kerala. Tourism in Kerala is not confined to the southern part. There are plenty of places to visit in the northern part also. Anyway, within the constraint of two weeks, you can't do entire Kerala.

The monsoon is a great time to be in Kerala if you remove two tour options - the houseboat trip and the beach. I always love going to Munnar and Thekkady when it rains as nature is at its most beautiful and lesser number of tourists means better packages at the resorts.

So two days at Kovalam and the overnight houseboat at Alleppey is not a great idea. Three night in Munnar, two nights in Thekkady and two nights at Kumarakom would be better. Cut out Kovalam and be in Trivandrum and from there to Kanyakumari.

Hi ,

Your itinerary seems good but plan to land in Cochin when you arrive and book your departure from Trivandrum. Monsoon is not a very good time if you are planning for a sightseeing/trekking intensive vacation. But If you are expecting a relaxed laid back vacation you wont be disappointed . Besides the chances of rain will be less in last two weeks of August comparing to June/July but we cannot be sure.

If you want the best experience postpone your trip to late September.

Cheers !

For Nothing but the best experience your date of travel needs to be post mid September, November is my personal favorite time. Increase a night at Thekkady and go for a Green walk or cloud walk at Periyar Wildlife reserve.
