Better repeating stay at cochin,

You can add one day at Periyar(Thekkady)

Wild life sanctuary at Lake Palace,

after tree House, Munnar,

And then to Punnamada

Try it

I am just back from my trip and we were fortunate to have nearly 3 weeks in Kerala. It id hard to say what to include and what to leave out. You have a limited time and have concentrated on being in Munnar and the lake/backwaters. You will not see much of Cochin or the coast but you cannot have everything.

Your plan and your choices sound find to me. It will be high season and busy. There are plenty of excellent local walks around Munnar. This is how we spent our time- our hotel provided them free with a guide.

The Periyar area is lovely too and you could just about see some of it as a long day trip from your Munnar base. I wouldn't say it was unmissable, however.

It is also easy to arrange local village trips from Alleppey to see the backwaters by canoe and meet local people. We had bikes from our hotel which were also great for exploring.

You will have an excellent time just letting plans evolve when you get there. No need to book any trips and if you have a car and driver at your disposal, so much the better.

Happy travels ! The joy of planning and anticipation is a huge part of it.

Three days aren't required for Alapuzha(Aleppey), one day for Aleppey and second day at Kumarakom lake are sufficient. You can also spend the third day at Marari beach.

Nothing much to do in Alleppey for 3 days. It is better to consider a day cruise rather than a overnight one(this is my very personal opinion) and spend a few more days in Munnar or Thekkady as the weather would be pleasant. The plains would be hot and humid comparing to the hills, maybe rainy also as it is December.

You may consider Cochin (1 night), Athirapally Water Falls (1 night), Munnar (2 nights), Thekkady (2 nights), Alleppey or Kumarakom ( 1 night) and back to Cochin.

Thekkady, also known as Periyar wild life Sanctury,

is the famous wild life sanctury in kerala.

Lake Palace is constructed by British, before indipendence,

and situated amid-st of Periyar lake, at the centre of wild life Sanctury,

And you can watch wild animals from there itself,

And boating and food are inclusive

It is owned by Kerala Governent Tourism Department(KTDC)

And it is life time experience for y;ou

if want more details message to me
