Homestay at thekkady

Each tour operator offers different homestay. Amongst the following which is the best --

1. Tranquilov homestay

2. Chilly caste cottage - homestay --DLX

3. Pepper county -- homestay - DLX

4. Appus Angels Inn Kumily - Std

5. Silver crest - Is this a homestay or resort

6. Michael's Inn

7. Pagoda valley view --Homestay

I shall prefer a place near the river, and can offer Veg food. We are 4 adults and all of us are pure vegetarians. We shall be reaching there from Munnar on 10th Dec and stay for 2 Nights.

Thanks and regards

Depends on your budget and preferences. Suggest you to check TA ratings before deciding.

Hi...

Would revert back to you with the details tomorrow, as I need to check for information... I have experience only with Jungle Palace, for which Rajesh is the care taker. Located near to the Reserve's gate, large, decent rooms nd at very good budget. Let me revert back on the other places...

Dear Prasanna,

Thanks for the update. One more thing. Which is better --to stay in B &B of Kumily rated or Thekaddy rated. What is the difference ? I am keen to stay in a spice plantation . I should be able to get food ( veg) at the homestay itself, and if possible a massage also

Thanks

Kumily and Thekkady are no different practically, bit technically as it happens to be the Tamil Nadu/Kerala border, one side is Thekkady and the other is Kumily. All in a distance of 10 metres. So, it really doesn't matter if it Thekkady or Kumily, as long as the facility is good. Most homestays offer food as the actual idea of a homestay by itself is to host a guest totally. Else, this is a pretty small town, starting from the gate of the reserve to the end of occupation should be 3 - 4 kms, and you have a lot of dining options in all budgets.
