1. Re: Rajasthan itinery

Logical sequence for the trip -

Delhi- Fly to Patna- Varanasi- Allahabad- Lukhnow-Agra- Jaipur- Udaipur- Jodhpur- Jaisalmer- Delhi.

Now you can decide how you plan to travel between these cities.

From Patna............to Udaipur you can travel by train. there is very good connectivity. You can also hire a car in certain parts but roadconditions in certain area not good.

From Udaipur to Jaisalmer car is convinient though it is long drive.

Hi Caz,

I feel you have kept it too busy. What is your trip about? As in what is it that you must do and see? I feel 10 cities in 21 days is a lil too cluttered. i completely understand your excitement and confusion, however i feel you should aim at a trip that doesnt make you go back home and take a break! Pls keep in mind that with this itinerary you will end exhausting urself in packing-unpacking and traveling from city to city and not really soak up the people, places, sights / culture.

My suggestion is make one city your base and then do things around it or finish one or 2 regions on this trip and save the rest for your next trip whenevr that happens!!! Here's the itinerary I recommend:

Delhi: 2 nights

Day 3: Fly to varanasi (if temples and ganges is what u wanna go to varanasi for- then you can find these much closer to Delhi at Haridwar. You can stay at haridwar and take day trips to rishikesh and dehradoon easily. Consider this option) 2 Nights- 3 days

Day 6: If ou chose Haridwar then drive to Agra. If varanasi then take a train. 2 Nights Agra (The 6 will be mostly spent travelling)

Day 9: Hire a car- drive via fatehpur sikri to Jaipur (4 Nights jaipur) Take loads of day trips to interesting sights close to jaipur. For more on day trip from Jaipur read: …blogspot.com/2011/07/day-trips-from-jaipur.…

Day 13: Drive to Jaisalmer and enjoy the countryside. 2 Nights jaisalmer. (A lot of day 13 will be spent travelling)

Day 16: Drive to Jodhpur ( 3 nights- many things to explore and enjoy around jodhpur. Temples, villages, forts, palaces etc etc. So after you ahve explored the city take day trips and make the most of your 3 nights)

Day 19: Drive to udaipur. (2 nights)

Day 21: Fly to Delhi.
