I am planning a 9 days tour to Rajasthan in Dec with my parents and kids .Please suggest a suitable itinerary. We want to visit Jaipur, Ranthambore Jodhpur,Jaisalmer, Udaipur.

Our plane will land in Jaipur in afternoon. So we have 1,5 days in Jaipur.

Our itinerary is :

2 days in Jaipur

1 day in Bikaner,

1 day in Jodhpur

2 days in Jaisalmer

2 days in Udaipur and back to Pune.

We want to skip Bikaner and go to Ranthambore instead so that the kids will enjoy. So could you please suggest a better itinerary?

You can take a direct train to Jaipur to Jaisalmer and it is the only way by which you can skip Bikaner other wise if you take a road trip then it will be around 9-10 hours drive. for you.

Better instead ranthambhor then bikaner. because route is much suitable with bikaner.

udaipur via ranakpur.

other route is land Jaipur and directly to ranthambhor two nights.

then back to Jaipur.

to bikaner to jaisalmer to Jodhpur to udaipur.

this itinerary you need two more days with ranthambhor.

thanks and regards

We are going to travel by road . We are planning to travel with Ashoka Holidays. According to their itinerary it was Jaipur( 2 )- Bikaner(1) - Jodhpur(1)-Jaisalmer (2) - Udaipur(2) days and back.

As distance from Jaipur to Jodhpur and Jaipur to Bikaner was nearly equal so, I thought of visiting Ranthambore instead Bikaner. Please suggest if this is manageable or we should stick to earlier plan of Bikaner? Is one day enough for Jodhpur?

Visiting ranthambore is good idea and it will be good experience for kids to visiting a Jungle and experience wildlife. Well one day is for Jodhpur if you want to go ranthambore other you need to add more days in your itinerary or drop Bikaner

every one know that ranthambhor is good for kids but how much you drive with kids in a day??

if you avoid bikaner then you know about distance in between ranthambhor to Jodhpur and then jaisalmer to udaipur via Jodhpur???

if you have good energy then drive.

ranthambhor to Jodhpur via Jaipur or Tonk

km :- 510 & 470

jaisalmer to udaipur via ranakpur km :- 580

choice is your.

I have this like a sample tour for 10 days trip of Rajasthan which will cover almost everything to see check this out. Most of the tourists who are traveling to Rajasthan are confused on what and how to travel here, to make

the most out of their trip. So here is a perfectly planned itinerary to travel in Rajasthan. You can make the changes if you like according to your budget and means of transportation you prefer, but this is almost perfect route

you should follow.

9. Re: 9 days itinerary

Hello Reshma

Look if you want to cover Jaisalmer then you have to go via Jodhpur or Bikaner.

So if you want to cover Jaisalmer then the best itinerary for 9 days is

Jaipur (2 Nights) > Bikaner (01 Night) > Jaisalmer (02 Nights) > Jodhpur (01 Night) > Udaipur (02 Nights). For this you can take a arrival at Jaipur and departure from Udaipur or depanding on your flight / train timings you can even take a departure from Jaipur. The cost with departure from Jaipur and Udaipur should be the same as all agents would give you a car from Jaipur to Jaipur only.

And if you want to cover Ranthambore in 9 days you can take the itinerary as Jaipur (02 Nights) > Ranthambore (01 Night) > Udaipur (02 Nights) > Jodhpur (01 Night) > Jaisalmer (02 Nights). Then after this you can either take another night at Jodhpur so that you can take a departure the next day from Jodhpur itself or from Jaipur. Again the cost should not change as transport would be from Jaipur to Jaipur. Other routing is that you take a night at Bikaner where you can see the Rat Temple (Karni Mata Mandir) and a camel breeding farm. And on the next day you take a drop at Jaipur railway station or airport.

Let me know if you need any more information.
