Depends in which part of India you are and as you are talking about desert safari so i presume you will be in UP,Delhi and Rajasthan area. August is good time some rain so humid but not raining for long spell.

After July no. of visitors starts increasing because weather is good.

If it's about Bikaner only, then weather will be warm.

In Delhi & Agra etc it will be rainy season which as Deepak Ji said means humidity also.

3. Re: August weather

We were in Bikaner in August last year and did a safari at Osian, which is in the same general area. It was hot (40 degrees celcius) but there was a constant strong wind blowing which made it quite bearable. We were told that the wind is a feature of that time of year, but only having been once I can't confirm that.

Overall Rajasthan is not unbearable in August, providing you have aircon car and hotel to retire to from time to time.
