The great camel treks

Putting posts up as i prepare to return to India in around 12 months

time and the camel safari out into Thar desert is some thing i

missed 5 years back.

Enquiring on costs---i imagine the longer the journey wou the higher

the cost.

i would like at least one night under the stars but hear the shorter

trips you dont get far away and can be camping close to towns

Hope to get some ideas

Thanks

There are all kinds of desert experiences on offer, from souped up jazzy camps to simple and more authentic desert visits and stays with local communities. Prices can vary significantly. Do some googling and searching on desert trips out of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Osiyan and you will find a lot of stuff.

HI,

the prices are not change a lots. There are now more places offers the camel safari , you can do the less crowded safari with camel and jeep .

In jaisalmer many hotels and travel agents has there own setup and give good service .

How many days and nights are you out there?

How much does it cost?

You said 4 wheel drive takes you

It used to be camel so can you still go camel?

Thanks for any help

HI,

the sand is 50km away from jaisalmer city ,if you only go with camel ,you can not reach the sand dune . to enjoy the sunset on the sand dune you will drive out to camel point and from there camel ride to the sand dune .

Its up to you how many days or nights you wana go for .

There are tours from half day to 7 days or as long as you want ..

Ahhh!!! Now I remember & yes you go 4 wheel

to where the camels are waiting

So its up to me how long and I choose the following

Day 1 4 wheel to camel meeting point & tour

Overnite

Day 2 more camel touring

Overnite

Day 3 back to camel meeting point

and return to Jaiselmere by 4 wheel

What would that itenary cost

Highest cost.........lowest cost
