Best way to get from Jodhpur to jaipur?

Hi,

We are looking to get from Jodhpur to jaipur late December this year and was wondering what the best way would be? Train, driver, bus or fly? Cost?

Should i organise this before or when i get there?

Thanks for your help!

Best way by road and cost is depend on type of vehicles, it's one way 340km. But any car or transport charge both sides garage to garage.

Train reservation is necessary to book two months before the date of travel.train is cheap but again you need anything according on times of train. flight is not suitable for cost and timing both. in December fog in the part of Delhi so if flight is delayed in Delhi so reach jodhpur also later. Try to cover your way by road and road is very good now.

Thx

Hi,

The distance between the two cities is 350 kms, and it's approximately 6-7 hours by car, could be a bit more by bus. The train is also a good way but you need to book in advance. Secondly, you won't be able to see the things on the way by train. If you are travelling by car, you can stop on the way to visit Pushkar and Ajmer too.

The sedan car should be around Rs. 7000-8000/- all inclusive.

Thanks

Well it all depends on what you want to see.

If you would like to visit Pushkar & Ajmer in between and would like a flexible travel go for car.

Else train is the best mode of travel.

Bus should be last on the list if the above modes are not available.

Tarin will be cheapest and best way to reach there but have to book early as train tickets sold out very quickly.

If you want to plan it at last moment then RTDC bus will be cheap & convenient. One way hiring car & driver would be expensive , round trip will be cheaper.

Well it all depends on what you are doing and where you are heading after . If you are doing only Jodhpur and Jaipur , then you can take a train and then use local transportation at both places.

Alternate way is and this can be a little more exciting , that you take a car and then make a stopover in between. This will allow you a break in this long journey as well as give you a chance to explore countryside.

Possible places for breaks are Khejarla and Pushkar.

I always really liked the RTDC buses in Rajasthan. The deluxe buses are very comfortable, cheap and they allow you more flexibility than the trains, which require much more advance planning. I found them to be both comfortable and convenient.
