HACRA jeep safari--Do NOT miss this!!

Starting at 7 AM, we had a HACRA village jeep safari tour. This was a high point of the trip. We visited a Hindu village and Muslim village; in each, the hospitality was warm and sincere. I was worried that this would be a “touristy” experience, with the locals more or less “performing” for us. But this was not the case—it was very natural and real. Our guide, who was from the area, was excellent, and it was fascinating to see and begin to understand Indian village life, Since this is most of India ( 3/4 of population live in these small villages), this tour should be a part of every itinerary.

I just want to say, nippnsc, that what you had in your itinerary was the "lite" version. There is a longer version, including overnight stay in the dhani, which is also a good experience. Facilities are basic, but hey, it's the desert.
