hi,

it will be a backpack-holiday so don't need luxury. It would be good to have it around 20 USD or even less. But don't want a junk one. but if more expensive I can also afford it.

I would suggest Alka, Ganpati Guest House, Scindia Guest House. These are located on the bank of Ganges, within your budget.

I recommend Hotel Alka. I stayed there in November 2010. Munna is a great tour guide. Sanjay a very helpful travel agent, Khrisna oversee the finance and Chowdray make sure the hotel runs smoothly and neatly. The Hotel is next to the Ganges River, you will always be next to the daily actions. Food and beer are great when watching the sunset over the river.
