Family holiday at Westin Nusa Dua - advice pls?

Hi to all, we are a family of 4 of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 9) and are planning a trip to Bali in June/July, or September, and are considering staying at the Westin Nusa Dua (any preferences weather wise re date of travel?) We are just wondering how other's experienced this resort ... and especially is there a part of the hotel/room wings that have better outlooks etc ... so we can perhaps request a specific room number or area in the hotel on making the reservation, months before we leave. We've been caught before when "garden view" really meant the very back of the resort facing blank walls of the hotel next door .... And as this is the first family holiday for a number of years we'd like to get it right as best we can ... Thanks in advance for any advice and we've really appreciated reading all the review on the site to date.

Kind regards for any help and advise, we really appreciate it!

Hi Mandy

I haven't been before to bali but we have our first trip there in 2 weeks time. We will be spending our 2nd week at the westin with our 3 children who are 1,6,9 and are booked in a deluxe garden view room, so can post when I get back if you like and let you know how it was.

Hi there. We too will be staying at this hotel in 2 weeks time so we also can let you know how we go. We have 2 children aged 4 and 5 so although ours are younger than the ages you will probably be looking to cater for, we will let you know anyway.

Cheers

We stayed there last year and they gave us a room right down near the kitchen. It was very noisy and some very strong smells. I stood my ground that I was not happy with the room and they offered us an upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite for US$50 per night. So worth it!!!

After that initial hick-up the rest of the time there was perfect. There is no surf so the beach is very safe but the is next to no water there at low tide. A free shuttle bus will take you up to the mall for a quick shopping hit and it is a nice walk back.

Hi we stayed in a Family Suite newly renovated at the Westin in January this year. We had a top level on the beach front. These rooms are awesome with flat screens in each room, a living room with minibar and coffee making facilities, dining table couch, a bedroom with two double beds and bathroom with shower and bath and then another bedroom with king bed and own ensuite with huge shower and bath. All very modern and new. This hotel is amazing and the service is great. We have stayed there many times and will again soon. You will not regret picking the Westin. The buffet breakfast is so good. We always think we might try somewhere else for a change, but I don't think the other hotels compare. Hope this helps!
