We will be staying in Ubud and Sanur and wondered if a day trip from either place would be feasible.
Hi Boston and welcome to the Bali Forum.
Personally I'd do the trip from Ubud, you'll save yourself a good 50 minutes than if you did it from Sanur.
You could make a full day of it, seems a shame to go all that way and only visit Lovina then go back, so consider stopping off at Lake Bratan, Bedugul market in Candikuning, Air Panas at Banjar, and Git Git waterfall. It would be a long day, so set out early.
sanur to lovina is about a three to four hour drive one way. lovina is nice but i wouldn't go all that way and back just to look.
as advised it is quicker from ubud about 2 1/2 hours one way. seeing things on the way there and back is a better idea. you'll need to start at dawn to see all advised and enjoy them as well. also budddhist monastery at banjar worth seeing.
