Was wondering if anyone has purchased fireworks and set them off on the beach? We are staying about 7 kms north of Sanur right on the beach and hubby is determined to buy some fireworks and let loose. He is a very responsible person but I am not convinced and was hoping to hear from some others who have done this. Would not like to ruin our holiday being in trouble with the polisi.

Personally, we didn't buy any for the New Year celebrations last year, as we unfortunately had to leave that afternoon for home. Where we were staying, they had and were all set to set them off - sorry, I didn't ask where they had purchased them.

So...as far as I know, you can buy them, but I am sure you can also find some great places to be on NYE to watch some great fireworks...as we witnessed as we flew out of Denpasar at midnight.

Others can no doubt tell you where you can purchase them.

I saw some guys in bali one night letting fireworks off on the beach and it wasn't long before the polisi came along and took them away
