Central Ubud is okay, Jl Raya Ubud, Monkey Forest Road (not near the Monkey Forest though where there's a steep dip), and Jl Hanoman. If you could give us some idea of which hotels you're looking at, we'll try and advise you which is best in terms of not being slopey.

Maybe take a look at Puri Saraswati on Jl Raya Ubud. There are approx 6 or so steps up into the property from reception & then it's more or less on a level. It's next to the royal palace & some members live on site so if there's a ceremony you will see them toing & froing with their colourful offerings & when I stayed there one of them stopped to chat. He later returned with a gift of cakes & sweets for me. Staff were friendly & helpful. In the afternoon they will serve you tea/coffee on your verandah/patio free of charge. The Lotus Cafe is next door & overlooks the lotus pond at Pura Taman Saraswati. If there is a dance performance you can watch from the restaurant.

Hi,

What is your budget? I think that some of the hotels - Komaneka on Monkey Forest Road have rooms that are on the ground floor and Ubud Hanging Gardens has a funicular to take up you and down.

I think Uma Ubud also has villas without any stairs....

Not only are some of the flights of stair steep, but the height of each step is also steep, so that is something that you have to take into consideration as well.
