hi all

what part of Lombok to book accomadation with the plan to take fast boat to gilli islands

and approximately how long crossing will take

The crossing is 10min but can't comment on the rest as I went from Bali to gili via a stop at Lombok.

Hi R0b - I would be looking to stay in Mangsit or Senggigi as your jumping off point to the Gilis. Transfer time to Teluk Kode/Teluk Nara about 30-40 mins. If you're taking a speedboat, be prepared to get a bit wet.

When you say 'fast boat' do you mean the big boat that leaves from Senggigi pier or a speedboat?

There is a daily departure at 11am from Senggigi. Otherwise, as has been described in the post above, there is the speedboat option from Teluk Koded/Teluk Nare (crossing takes about 10 mins to Gilli T) and yes it can be a little choppy as we experienced on Saturday.
