Travellers Cheques

Does anyone know what the best form of currency is for travellers cheques? I'd read that all excursions, hotels, car hire etc require payment with foreign currency. Should I take dollars or pounds sterling as there's a 1.5% commission fee on sterling. What have people found best in paying for excursions? (We'll get our rupees for the local shops)

Hello there! Well, the best form of currency would be pounds sterling as you will get more monetary value. But dollars are accepted as well in most hotels and other touristic establishments.

hi from greece,

just return from 2 week in seychelles

well yes all excursions, hotels, car rental require payment with foreign currency

if you pay 1.5% commission fee on sterling

pay it with yr gredit card

or bring cash(i think its the best way)

the people seems to prefer dollars or euros

and exchange them in the indian stores in mahe

there you can 10 ruppees for 1 dollar

..or maybe more

with that rate the seychelles its a true paradise
