Travelling Dec to Mahe

Hi!

Another weather question sorry!

We are planning a week in mid-December in Mahe at Ephelia.

Although we know Dec is a wet month, we would accept like 30 m downpour everyday during daytime (don’t mind it rains while we are in bed lol). But don't want to have like 3 days raining uninterruptedly.

Can this happen and how probable this can occur?

We understand that weather is difficult to predict and that Seychelles are a wet region otherwise it would't be as beautiful, but your comments on this would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Dear Alexa,

The rains here are convectional so, it doesn't rain continuously for days here generally. Also it is possible to get sunshine and rains simultaneously in spurts. as you well said one cannot expect a prediction this is just a general idea of weather here.

Thanks Seychellesbayview.

So we could say it would be a calculated risk?

Any other comments from others pls?

Thanks!

I was in the Seychelles 10 days last December and the weather was beautiful. My first day on Mahe it rained on and off most of the day, but the majority of the week (touring the islands) had only occasional downpours. Just one experience...

Hi Alexandra,

Been 2 times on December - last year weather was great, only 2 days with heavy clouds and rain but our first time on December was more rainy than our last with 5 out of 10 days without sun.

Zebracruiser and Milki,

Thanks for the insights. Weather is always unpredictable but anyway it is good to hear that your experiences went OK.

If we could we would avoid Dec. but we cannot go in Oct neither in Nov. and March/April is too far.

In Dec it will rain, at least a bit. Hopefully is does not rain that much.

We will try to have a great time either way.

... and I am really starting to get excited with this trip. :)
