Hi Riri,

Durian season is August-September, sorry for that. You might be able to find some imported ones but no local.

Plenty of year-round fruits available, like Papaya and small bananas. Possibly also early mangustenes...

Plenty to do near Bentota, use search term 'excursions' to find more!

Have fun,

The mangos are delicious and over 20 types of bananas are grown in Sri Lanka, pineapple and papaya of course.....apples and oranges are flown in from Pakistan.....you will also find coconuts, guava, passion fruits etc.etc.

Durian is hard to to find during this period of the year.Probably if you are travelling to kandy on your way near kadugannawa you will be able to buy some Durians sometimes.

There are enough of other fruits available during this time. Specially the mangoes.Enough of things to do at Bentota. If you are lucky to stay during Sinhala-Hindu new year season (April 12th to 15th of April) you could enjoy the sri lankan traditions during the sinhal-hindu newyear season.
