Travelling to Doha,Colombo.

Hi its my third time to Lanka and would like to know the length of flight from Manchester to Doha and Doha to Colombo please. Also does your luggage get transfered from flights at your stop over in Doha?We are travelling with Qatar, in the past we have flown with Emerates. We have 2 children aged 7 to 10 are Qatar child friendly?? I hope so!!!

One last question is it possile to get to Pinnewalla elephant orphanage from the tangerine hotel without an overnight stay? If an overnght stay is necessary any recommendations on a hotel with reasonable prices for a family of 3 adults and 2 children???

All replies greatfully recieved in advance! :)

Hi there..

Only on the Elephants bit....

Yes will should be able to get to Pinnewella and back in same day from Tangerine Beach Hotel (Kalutara), be a little bit of a long day in a car /van though, which is why we generally recommend a 2 day one night mini tour taking the highlights of Kandy too, but realise in your case with two youngsters, they may not be happy with that..

Regards

Dave

Manchester to Doha is approx. 7 hours and Doha to Colombo is approx. 5 hours.

Your luggage will be checked right through from Manchester to Colombo.

Qatar Airways is just as child friendly as Emirates.

Flight times provided in an earlier post.

Qatar (Doha) is fine the airline isas good if not better than other carriers. Doha airport is small so there is not a great deal of things to do whilst waiting for your connecting flight. Just make sure you get off at the right terminal (transfer) it's clearly communicated with everyone and on the coach that collects you from the plain.

Enjoy
