Renovations at Holiday Inn Cha Am

Has anyone got any information on the renovations between 1st April and end September? We have just had info from travel agent but no details as to the disruption it may cause.

Hi RhondaEssex,

we stayed at this hotel last Oct and they were renovating one of the blocks of rooms overlooking the big main pool. It was quite noisy as there was a lot of drilling going on every time we walked near the this pool. We just used the other pool near the Regency Wing instead. Don't let it put you off though as you will be able to find a quet spot in the hotel grounds. Sorry I can't give you any more up to date info. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

Hi just got back from the Holiday Inn and have put my review on Tripadvisor and various other sites. There is some renovation work ongoing but nothing to cause you any concerns. Hotel was only about a quarter full when we were there. By the main pool they were installing some safety rails to rooms overlooking the pool so there was some drilling during daytime, but we used the second pool which is very good and heard nothing. Big plus of this hotel is the Village very close by. Try the Mermaid for some excellent food and great company.

Thank you for this. We have been several times, but have been notified that the Regent pool will be 'renovated/refurbished' and that the whole Regency wing is under refurb - just wondered with it being Songkran (last time we were there at this time the place was rammed) whether or not there will be the facilities for everyone to enjoy the place.

Difficult to say to be honest, the first weekend we were there it was a Thai Bank holiday so the place was very busy but it didn't really affect us and we didn't at that time notice any renovation work going on, so I assume they stopped for that period. We were told that the block behind the second pool hasn't yet been renovated, but some couples who arrived just before we left and go there every year, say they always ask to go in that block anyway as they prefer it!

Enjoy your holiday and enjoy Sonkran, try not to get too wet!!!!
