malaria tablets hua hin.

Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone took malaria tablets during their stay in Hua Hin. Are they neccessary? Don't fancy taking them as heard they can make you sick. Having said that don't want to risk getting malaria either!! Don't know what to do.

Sarah we were in Hua Hin last year in June/July and never took any Malaria tablets.Indeed we hardly even seen any mosquitoes. As long as you stick to the town and beach you should be fine.If however you are going trekking overnight in the jungle then that is another matter.we are returning at the same time this year with no fear about malaria.

Should not be a problem, if you check with your local Medical center they no doubt have some leaflet that lists the main tips.

I am certain they have one, it should offer the basics about wearing too much perfume, wear long sleeved and ankle length in the evenings.

Hua Hin area you should be fine but if you are doing any treks then you can buy local things such as roll-on and spray ( lemon grass based I think ) and most outside places on treks etc would have anti mosquito coils.

But compared to other areas if you are around town etc nothing to worry about.

But do get that leaflet and read.
