Hua Hin on SBS Demand

As a matter of interest, last Wed, SBS 2 featured Sophie Grigson Ep 3 in Thailand, Hua Hin featured in this episode.

I didn't catch the program on free to air but watched it later on the SBS on Demand app.

Hi Monica

The series, what I've seen so far, Sophie Grigson travels around Thailand and meets a local guide. In Hua Hin they went to the Kings Railway station, the guide explained about the colours on the Thai flag, he also explained the Kings picture on the yellow flag. Forget what day of the week the King was born on but it was the 'yellow' day of the week. Each week day has a particular colour.

They went to the Centara Hotal and talked about the history of the building and particular influences re the architecture.

In each episode food rates a big mention. In Hua Hin they went to the pier and watched the fisherman unload boats and repair nets or fishing lines. A local chef cooked up a meal of fresh caught seafood.

I think Sophie Grigson was staying at the Dusit hotel.

That's all that comes to mind Monica.

Sophie Grigson has packed the beef on in recent years.
