Kanchanaburi to Ayuthaya

Which is the best way to get there? Tour guide vs bus? Other options? Approximate cost? How long does it take?

Thanks

Hi

There is a direct mini bus from Kanchanaburi to Ayutthaya. The price is 450 baht per person and the journey is about 2.5 hours. The mini bus will pick you from your hotel at 1.30pm and drop you off at Ayutthaya bus station.

The cheapest option is by public transport. The first bus is from Kanchanaburi to Suphanburi. Then change bus there for Ayutthaya. Each sector takes between 1 to 1.30 hours. Busses leave the station between 30 min to an hour. Total bus journey is expected not to be less than 4 hours.

The most relaxed but of course, most expensive, method is private transfer. The price for a car should be in the region of 2,000 baht upwards. The journey will take you about 2 to 2.5 hours.

You may be able to take a direct full-sized bus. There is one bus a day between Kanchanaburi and Nong Khai, and I assume it stops in Ayutthaya.

Hi,

You can book a minivan at one of the tour/travel agents in town. It is also possible to do at several guest houses. Unable to comment on the cost though.
