Current exchange Aussie dollar

Hi - is anyone there that could tell me what the exchange rate on the street in Patong is at the moment. Trying to decide whether to change Aust dollars into US whilst Aussie dollar is doing well>

Thanks andy53, always use XE for conversion but wasn't sure if the "on street" prices were the same.

Hi,

I think what you're likely to find is that you won't come out ahead financially by double exchanging.. That is exchanging your AUD's into USD's, then into THB's..

In part because each time you exchange you loose somewhere between 1 to 3% due to the 'spread' or the difference between the buy versus sell rate of each currency.

Granted with a double exchange you do have the *possibility* of catching the AUD-vs-USD and USD-vs-THB rate on an upswing in your favor- which would give you a better overall rate for sure.. but.. you also have the chance that the rates will move against you either on one or both exchanges-- thus you'd be doubly hurt on the downside.

dont change your aussie $$$$ into USD.. you will lose.. the USD was only about 30.8 last week and the aussie $$ was around 30 .3...
