Hi

If you do a quick search there are many of these questions with lots of great answers.. Also on the right hand side of this forum there is an airport FAQ also check that out.

There are a few options available depending on your budget so it will pay to check out other posts..

Hi Sarah

as already said there is lots of info in FAQ's right hand side>>>,

reading jbr's and by using the search engine for some answers

but for now, pre-booked with a driver or hotel around 6-700bhat for a car, a mini bus will be more if you have more than 2-3 people up to 1000bhat

cheaper option is a metered taxi which you get out the front of the airport, to the right and at the end as you leave the main doors, about 450bhat and should be no more than 500bhat

happy planning :-)

450baht if you use the metered taxi outside the airport building and that is with a tip. 600baht if you use the touts inside the airport

I have just returned from Patong yesterday and the Airport to Patong price listed on the Taxi Charge Card is 800Bh. I was ripped off going from the Airport to Patong by the outlet in the Airport . They gave us an exchange rate of 27Bh = 1AUS and charged us 1000Bh for the taxi. You are so tired and about 20 taxi drivers surround you, so if you are not sure of your facts you will get ripped off.

After you exit the luggage collection lounge you will see lots of many different transport companies offering you taxi's and mini buses to areas of Phuket. The one nearest the door wanted 1300 baht to Patong, the next one wanted 1000, as you go further down the hall to the right it gets less. After asking the fourth counter we were told 650 baht, and by then just wanted to jump into a taxi. Here you pay in advance and the taxi took us to our Patong hotel.

But if you then go outside that building on the far far right there is a metered taxi stand at the end. We missed that the first time, but realized after we had already paid 650.

One word of warning though our taxi driver stopped half way outside a tourist information place (Said he needed to ask direction for the hotel) and then a lady came out and said out hotel was fully booked and they weren't taking on any more guests. After explaining that we had booked it weeks ago and had a booking she left the matter, then tried selling us other tours. After saying we didn't want anything and weren't interested we were finally took to our hotel.
