Half moon party is no where near Phuket and getting there is either expensive by air and ferry, or very long and slow by land and ferry.

Hi Roger & Marie

Welcome to Phuket forum and we will do our best to help you with your first trip to Phuket

1) Jan is high season which is the best time but as for high season anywhere it brings higher prices for hotels, we can help with that part later, what is your budget and preferences?

3 & 4 a-f) you can do from Patong, just be very carefull with the jetski hire if you plan to do that, check out the FAQ's on right hand side>>>> re the jetski hire and scams,

4a) both great tours and PST the best to go with, we had the highlight of our holiday with them to Phang Nga on the sailboat, awesome day trip, highly recommend doing this one,

Phi Phi very busy at this time of year although still beautiful and if you want snorkeling then maybe Phi Phi better for you, you have time to do both, but split them up with a free day inbetween

b) Fantasea show would be my pick for you to go and see, great evening out and good Thai cultural show

c) Jungceylon is good for shopping (basement good) as is Otop markets south end Patong

d) Bangla Rd great for nightlife, and a good laugh

Patong beach isn't the best beach around but still nice, there are better beaches to go to a short distance away, Tri Trang is nice only 5 min south tuk tuk or taxi ride away, Kata, Karon & Surin beaches much nicer and of course the many island tours that you can do, Coral Island, Racha island and Bon island all shorter day tours

4f) add in Wat Chalong temples too

other things:

*Phuket town weekend night markets are a must do

*Dino Mini Golf good for a laugh, early evening better as it is hot in the day, have dinner in Karon or Kata after

* www.bonislandphuket.wordpress.com

*the Gibbon Rehab Project and waterfalls good half day out

*fish spa good experience and a good laugh

*lots of massages are great

*try the banana pancakes mmmmmm! YUM!

IMO the Zoo not worth seeing more of a concrete jungle, made us quite sad

No full moon parties on Phuket

above all have a holiday and relax by the pool with lots of cocktails too

happy planning :-)

Hello friends, something you may have missed out will be the prices of other activities such as diving, transportation, food etc. I am not sure whether the price of these will go up when peak/high season or remain the same as low season. Can anyone advice on this? thank you!
