Help with Hotel

Hi, we would really appreciate some advice from all you seasoned Phuket travellers, we have never been to Thailand/Phuket, so are completely lost choosing a hotel, we do have specific needs, we are in our early 70's so we don't want to be in the centre of Patong with all the 'razzle dazzle' we would prefer something nice and peaceful, but, we want to be near restaurants etc, preferably a hotel with a shuttle which will take us to good food and shopping, lastly we need a hotel which either has lifts or is all on one easy level,(we are not too good with walking anymore), one which will help us organise tours would be great too, hope someone can help.

Thanks a lot

Pat

Hi Pat we are around your age and my husband has a mobility problem we have stopped at the Kata Palms Kata and The Karon Sea and Sands in Karon both are in good positions to walk to shops and restaurants although the one in Karon is a bit better. We have been on Capt Marks tours and he is great with helping on and off the boat and generally being helpful well worth the cost. I always ask for a ground floor room saying we can't walk up stairs and never had a problem. Hope this helps Beryl.

Kata beach might be the best choice to stay. :)

I think you would like Kata, it's quieter than Patong but still has a good choice of restaurants.

Hi Pat, have you considered Khao Lak? It's about an hour and a half from Phuket airport and very beautiful, quiet and relaxing!

Happy and safe travels!

Cheers

P.S Kantary beach hotel is lovely, we are staying for a second time in 5 weeks, which will sadly be our last as it is going "kid free" from November. The website think2travel has great prices. If you book a villa they are single story and only have 2 steps or so onto the patio.
