expired passport - advice please

Regular travellers to Turkey, please help!

Due to fly Thursday - 2 adults and 3 children

I've just entered advance passenger information into TC website and notice my daughters passport expires 2 days before we are due to return!

What are the chances of the visa being granted and being allowed to travel?

Anyone been in a similar situation?

Cannot believe my stupidity- can see £5K being chucked down the drain :(

1. Re: expired passport - advice please

Have a look at the advice on the UK passport website.

https://www.gov.uk/get-a-passport-urgently

I know it's too late now, but so many people book their holidays without reading the small print which states that you should check that your passports are valid for the duration of your holiday and usually several months beyond, before you actually book your holiday.

Good luck.

From what I understand the tour operator will not let you travel at all. They risk heavy fines if turkey refuse to admit you (which they will if under 6 month validity). Ring the passport office for a one day premium ASAP.

Unfortunately the link I gave you says you can't apply for a 1st passport or renew a child's passport using the premium service.

I think the link Kittykatty posted is for people outside the UK who have lost or whose passport has expired.

My passport ran out a while ago when I needed it at short notice.... A trip to Newport followed where I got mine renewed the same day... This may be ur best option...

Thank you but can't get a childs in one day any more, its 7-8 working days and thats a FAST track service.

Apparently from what I have read, the passport needs to be 3 months before travel too. So a new one wouldn't be valid.

Thomas cook will change my flights for £350.... now looking at other destinations..... Feel sick!

My sons passport only arrived this morning :(

Picabar, passport requirements for Turkey are......................

Passport validity

Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Turkey and have at least 3 months validity from the date you are leaving Turkey.

From the Foreign Office website.

So a new passport is valid for travel, I do hope you get something sorted.

A new passport is valid as soon as you get it. I would phone the passport office and see if you can get an appointment for a one day renewal.
