Trips to Kekova, Ucagiz & Kalekoy from Kalkan

Hi,

We are hoping to do a combined day trip to Kekova, Ucagiz & Kalekoy this September, and wish to be able to spend some time in Ucagiz, and in Kalekoy with a walk around Simena Castle. We also want to see the sunken city and spend some time swimming and sunbathing.

Has anyone already done this particular tour, and if so, please could you advise us which tour company you used and your experience with them?

There are so many online companies that seem to do this tour, so we are not sure which one to book with, but we would obviously be happier booking with a company that has been highly recommended by someone.

We note that Exclusive Tours do two trips there; one which takes you by boat from Kalkan and another that takes you to Ucagiz via minibus. (£25 each)

Has anyone been there via boat and also by minibus and then boat?

What did you prefer? Do you think it would be better to get there via minibus and then boat rather than sailing there all the way from Kalkan?

Also, what would you think is a fair price for this trip? We will probably book it once we are in Kalkan, so we don’t want to be ripped off by sellers desperate for passing trade...

Thank you very much for your help, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I don't think you can get a day boat trip from Kalkan to Kekova - it's just too far. I have visited twice using a hire car and it's probably a 1.25 hour drive, you can pick up a day trip from Kas though. It is well worth a visit and although we don't use tour companies there are lots of well established companies in Kalkan - Abi Travel seem to have been around for ages, also Define and Ada come to mind as being well established. If you decide to hire a car it's an easy enough drive and there are loads of boat trips at Ucagiz., it's an excellent day out.

There are dolmus service from Kalkan to Kas and also from Kas to Kekova.

I would recommend you to go Kekova from Kas rather than going all the way from Kalkan to ucagiz.

I did the kayaking trip ove the Sunken City in Kekova from Kas on a day trip via Bougainville Travel in Kas - excellent day out - would highly recommend it and it wasn't too expensive either although I cannot remember the price I paid now.

Oh here is their website with prices and details
