Party of 11need advice

Hi

We (myself, hubby and 2 kids) have been going to Turkey for the last couple of years and have fallen in love with the country. Both times before we stayed just outside Icmeler. Having come back and talked about it so much we have managed to convince some of the family to join us and decided we would like to try somewhere different and Kas caught our eye straight away. There are now 11 of us visiting Kas in August, 7 adults & 4 kids and we are now on a week, day, hour count down!

While staying in Icmeler we had some great family days out and are keen to know if there are similar things going on in Kas?

1) Lazy day boat trips

2) Jeep safari

3) Turkish hamam

4) Water park

Also going in the height of the summer season and there being 11 of us, could anyone advise us on how easy would it be for us to eat together in the restaurants and are there any recommendations as to where to go. We have a birthday & a 50th wedding anniversary while in Kas so would like to have a fab, fun night.

Hi Hobbittr

Thank you, the kids will be happy.

We are staying on the peninsula so will have to travel into Kas each night, not a problem though as we are quite looking forward to it. I think our best option would be to book a restaurant the night before while in the town.

Any recommendations for the birthday night and 50th anniversary?

Many thanks

Hi FamRen

You won,t have any problems with the restaurants taking a reservation for a party of 11.

Definately the best way is to have a wander around after dinner and book for the following evening.

Normally for larger groups you can come to some arrangement with the restaurant for free "extras".

Lolas is very good at catering for large groups and if you tell them that it is for a special occasion they will pull the stops out for you.

For a really, really special night out I would definately recommend the Nur Beach Hotel, but be warned its not cheap.

Maybe consider hiring one of the boats and have dinner out at sea.

There are lots of boats in Kas harbour that do very lazy day trips. The one we went on was to Kekova the sunken city. It was a really good day out. As previous posters have said restaurants should not be a problem as there are plenty to choose from. As you are staying on the peninsular there is a very good restaurant there called the Akropol, we had some very good meals there and the owners are the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. It is also has spectacular views especially at sunset. If you are on the lagoon side of the peninsula you will be able to walk to it.

Hi

Just another vote for the Nur Beach Hotel if you're looking for a venue for a special occasion. It has a wonderful platform over the sea - sometimes lit up by night time underwater divers - the food and service is excellent, and it certainly makes for a memorable evening. It is pricier than most, and for a party of 11 I would definitely recommend you book if you have a look and decide to go.

Cheers

There are some water slides at Akcegerme beach Pronounced Akchergerme about 2 kilometres outside Kas on the Kalkan road. The Gokseki bus stops there and runs every half hour leaving town at 5 to the hour and 25 past the hour from outside Seckin restaurent. The beach is run by the tourism school so there is a charge for sunbeds umbrellas and use of the slides.

Enjoy your stay

You might contact Harriet at the Sultan Garden:

she also handles reservations for ZemZem boat.

You can ask if she can do something special for your birthday/anniversary perhaps a combined celebration and boat cruise?

When it comes to lazy boat trips I suppose everyone has their favourite boat and ours is definitely the Batin 2 with Ali it's captain.

Ali is a great host and a very funny man, very good at entertaining his guests whatever they want to do.

We have had many trips out on the Batin 2 and will be doing so again very shortly, our holiday would not be complete without one.
