In Side at the moment, some info which may be of help......
Went to Side market on Saturday, huge amount of hassle, couldn't stop to browse or look at anything, I certainly wouldn't bother again! Bought a vest top for 10 lira and saw something very similar in the old town.....air conditioned .....no hassle .....same price, the market is a complete rip off for gullible tourists (myself included). Haggling only serves to allow the stall holders to think you have bagged a bargain when in actual fact the prices are inflated to allow for this. Prices for fruit and veg however are a good deal at Manavgat market, much cheaper than Migros, and well worth a visit if you are self catering.
We went to a restaurant called the aksaya - it's on the way towards the harbour on the left side - it's a takeaway with a sit down area upstairs. We paid over 38 lira for a kebab, cheese salad, beer and very small glass of wine! The owner gave us the hard sell for the meat in clay pot which we declined, hate to think how much that would have cost! I plan to write a separate review of the aksaya when I return.
The weather is around 30 degrees, we had a thunderstorm and some rain a couple of days ago but it has been fine since. Not too hot to walk around during the day, and there is nice a breeze. Sun sets around 8pm
