Side to Antalya ( not airport ) via bus

Hi can you get a direct bus or dolmus to Antalya city centre?

Planning to do a day in the city but struggling to find away without going on an excursion.

Oh secondly is it worth the visit?

Thank you in advance for your help

Get a dolmus from Side to Manavgat (just up the road) from where there are buses running into Antalya all the time.

From the Antalya otogar take the tram into town.

Yes, it's worth a visit - the old town (Kaleici) is nice to wander around and I highly recommend the archaeological museum (and that's a nice little tram ride along the front to get to it).

There are regular buses between the otogars at Manavgat and Antalya. Cost TL 10 each way). Takes about 75 minutes.

See my posting No.2 on the attached link, about getting to the main areas (Kaleici Old Town) in Antalya:

tripadvisor.co.uk/…32472628

Definately worth the visit. Outside of Kaleici you can take a different tram (TL1.75), which travels the cliff-top seafront. It's worth doing the trip in both directions to each terminal, which are only 10-15 minutes in either direction from outside Kaleici.

Top-tip: If you go into Kaleici don't follow all the other tourists down the hill on the right. Keep to the left and just wander around the quiet streets and alleys.

To go to Antalya by bus (whıch I dıd today) - you don,t need to go as far as Manavgat from Side - just get off at the Total Garage by the bıg ıntersectıon and dıagonally across from you ıs the bus to Antaliya on the maın road - cost ıs 10 TL each way and you get free lemon splash and water on the bus ıf you lıke.

Antalya ıs well worth the vısıt - fabulous archaelogıcal museum - Kaleıcı Old Town has one of the most genuıne old Hamams ın thıs area of Turkey - as well as the beautıful harbour area - lots of shops and markets everywhere too - bıg and bustly compared to lıttle Sıde -

@angelasurrey and @fatboynoslim

Lateral thinking is required!

Doing it your way is fine, but you can't guarantee a seat. By the time the bus we caught from Manavgat got to the Total garage it was already full, and people were standing for most of the next 60 minutes!!!

By taking the dolmus as far as Manavgat otogar you can get on an empty bus, take your pick of seats, preferably on the seaward (left) side away from the heat of the day, and sit in the company of the people you are travelling with.

If you are travelling on your own then what you say might be okay, otherwise it could be a painful trip!!!

Cheers guys some quality tips from you all. Getting the bus from the garage sounds the easiest option ( and cheap) and the tram ride sounds good fun too.

Thank you again

Matt
