Typical Holiday expenditure in Side

Hi there,

We're off to Side in a couple of weeks and just wanted to hear from anyone who has been recently, so we can gauge what the general daily expenditure is, ie food, drinks etc. as Its our first time to Turkey.

Thanks :)

you can expect to pay btwn 3.5ytl and 5 ytl for a beer..Imported spirits are expensive but u can get local stuff quiet cheap..eating out is variable.I find the closer u get to the harbour the dearer the food gets so we tend to eat in local areas then venture into old town

Good advice from FatBoyNoSlim - also look to right under Top Questions and then Eating Out Cheaply etc - for lists of exactly what everything costs - of course it depends whether you want an omelette or a steak for dinner - price would double necessarily - - also see Top Questions for Side Tours + Costs to see what you might fancy doing as a day trip. White water rafting is well worth while and only 18 uk pounds for the day including lunch - - or Monday and Thursday boat trip to Manavgat about the same and includes lunch + 2 hours at Manavgat market day.

Hello Paul - the Voyage Sorgun is one of the most lovely hotels in the Side area - in the midst of the Sorgun Forest yet next to the beach - you can walk into Old Town Side in about a half-hour from there or take the dolmus.

For your white water rafting, try local guide Abdullah on 0090-538-9213-468 - - he can arrange pıck up for free at your hotel gates and only charges 35 TL I believe and that includes lunch on the day too - he also offers a good Turkish Bath wıth all massages and oıl treatments at just 30 TL per person - - compare these prices with those that are offered actually in your hotel by the local rep and you will be surprised = about half the cost!

Sorry - I meant to add ... you only need to book the rafting or Turkish Bath or any other tours with Abdullah just one or two days before you wish to go ... no need to phone from England before you go - just make a quick call from your local Reception desk when you get to Side.
