The sunbeds and umbrellas are free but not private - anyone can go there - and No - not all inclusive at the beach area for Barut Andiz guests as it is one block from the beach -

Hi,

The Andiz has its own section of beach next to the public beach, where only Andiz guests can go. No AI service down there but beach bars where there are toilets. These are nothing to do with the Andiz; food & drink available to buy.

Andiz guests can take AI bottled water to the beach. You get bed, umbrella & mattress. The Andiz beach section is now free (was chargeable when it opened, on our 1st visit in May) & you can tell which is the Andiz beach as the umbrellas match those round the pool.

Regards

P.S. "Bumped" the thread entitled,"Barut Andiz photos" as it may be of interest. You can see pics of the Andiz beach in the photobucket link given. We are back at the Andiz now (2nd visit) & very much enjoying it.

Regards

Thanks for your prompt reply what is the atmosphere like at the hotel we were in Crete earlier in the year at couples hotel and whilst the hotel was immaculate the whole place was very quiet by about 10pm Whilst I do not want night clubs etc it is nice to spend the evening with a little entertainment and some small talk with other guests

It's very quiet at the moment as it's the last 2 wks of the season. People do sit & chat in the Side lounge (under reception) or in the lobby bar, at night. It was busier during our May visit (14-28) especially the 2nd wk; no shortage of people to chat with.

The original resident duo, "Little Rum Club" left at the beginning of Oct & there is a new duo (Nicky & Charlie) who are (in our minds) very good. They play a good variety from "Easy Listening", thru Abba, Mud, Elvis, Simon & Garfunkal etc. Lovely harmonies as well as having a nice singing voice on their own.

Last night there was an brilliant "yoga" show which is sort of yoga combined with "Fakir" (sp?) But it's so much more than just 'lying on a bed of nails'. We saw this act 18m ago, at the 'Barut Hemera' & were pleased to see it again.

They still do the 'Rockaoke' like in the early days. There are quizzes, the duo plays by the pool some afternoons (not loudly) & it's still pretty low key but Emma, the Entertainments co-ordinator, tries to have some activity running, whether it's busy or not, in the day. Apart from the show last night (followed by pop music) we've been content to wander along the prom or sit & chat in the bar. The age range is still mixed, from young couples thru to people who are probably in their 60s or 70s. I know review have been mixed in that some say it's too quiet whilst others say it's just right with it being low-key; we're in the 2nd half :-)

We think the food in the main restaurant is even better (not that we had any problems with it in May) We've still not tried the 'Sofra' a la carte & are perfectly happy with the main buffet.

We hope the hotel keeps up this standard as it's ideal for us, in many ways; we'd like to return again.
