Rent a car Kusadasi or Izmir Airport

Hi,

We come to Kusadasi in March and we need a car. Does anyone know an address to rent a car for about 160 euros a week?. In Biarritz you can hire a small car for 154 euros per week. Why is this so expensive in Turkey? The price I see on Internet is about 220 euros a week.

Thank you!!

If you think the rental is expensive, wait until you see the price of gasoline!!

US$2.20 a Liter! (= US$8.50 a gallon!!)

Yow!!!

And that after they dropped the noughts in their currency, the Lira!

Believe it or nought, gas is more expensive in Turkey than it is in England. Before I visited Turkey, I always thought Britain has the highest fuel taxes in the known universe. Yow!!!

Having said this, there's no other way I'd want to get around in Turkey but by car.

Hi here are some helpful addresses that I have posted before regarding car rentals in Turkey . Normal daily prices depending on which type or size of car can run from about 20-40 Euros a day.

I have an idea why not try to find a rental car that runs on diesel instead of regular gas. Diesel is lesser in cost than normal gas. Or look for a compact car. With one of the website address I gave you I noticed the prices for an economy car quite reasonable for the month of March which is lower season and not considered high season yet in Turkey.

Hi Canmom,

Some of these from your old posting are no longer in business. Can you recommend car rentals or people that will drive for you? would love to drive from Kadasi to Pumukkale abd back down coast to Antayla, but it seems so expensive to do so. I would if cost wasn't a factor, to have car all the way to Cappoidocia for about 10 days, but that doesn't seem to work. Can you rent cars when yolu get there? This will be in aug. Do you think bus travel would be as good to see costal areas andAntayla, Konya on up to Cappocodia?

Thanks in advance

Rental cars are expensive so you will need to shop around. Try any affiliations you might have that could land you a discount.

Also, after you have booked your car call the agency office directly and verify what car you will actually get. The agencies are small and don't have a fleet of cars. If they tell you it's a 2006 something or other with 80,000 kms - find another agency. If you are paying a lot you want to make sure you have a car in decent condition.

So don't assume you will get a 2009 car.

This said - a rental car is a great way to go. The driving is fine.
