??? if I understand your question correctly..you are first travelling from kayseri..then to Denizli and then back to Antalya ??

why not just take the bus from kayseri to Antalya instead ? and then go on to pamukkale..you are double back on your route..

check out thes maps

evbazar.com/images/…201.jpg

also depending on when you travel there are direct flights from kasyseri to antalya with Pegasus airlines..June 01 -Sept 21, 2012

More than thankyou for your reply. There is very little information "down under" which also appears to be incorrect .

To start from the beginning, I am travelling from Athens to Antalya and wanted to visit Carpaducci and or Pamukkle ( the caves) if possible on the way. Obviously I need some exprert advice on how to accieve this . I am in Antalya for a few days so can visit either one from there if that is an option. Time is a problem so flying is a good option.

From Antalya I am travelling back to Istanbul via Izmir and have a plan for that part.

I did look at doing 1 day trips from Istanbul to those 2 pace as well as gallipoli. Now that was going to be expensive .

Your help is much appreciated.

Ah,okay,a bit clearer now :)

You can visit Cappadocia from Antalya easily enough either by overnight bus or there are direct flights on certain days between Antalya and Kayseri.

Capp.is where the caves and fairy chimnies are,not Pamukkale, that is where the white travertines are.

En route to Izmir(by bus) you can stop off at Pamukkale,a short overnight stop is enough as it only takes a few hours to see what is there. The take you into Denizli and from there you just need to use the small local bus to take you the short trip up to Pamukkale village.

From there you can take bus or train to Selçuk for Ephesus(I'm guessing that why you are going to Izmir),then fly back to Istanbul from nearby Izmir airport.Or take the bus from Selçuk to Çanakkale for the Gallipolli peninsula.

Here are some useful web sites for you-

All domestic flights at a glance, click on the UK flag for English menu-

http://www.bulucak.com

Buses to Capp-

http://www.metroturizm.com

Bus from Antalya to Denizli and also from there to Selçuk-

http://www.pamukkaleturizm.com

Train Denizli to Selçuk-

http://www.seat61.com/Turkey2.htm#Izmir - Ephesus - Pamukkale

Bus from Selçuk to Çanakkale-

http://www.truvaturizm.com

Some of these bus sites are only in Turkish I'm afraid(or part English part Turkish!)so kalkış is departure time, varış is arrival time, tarih is date.Any problems just come back to the forum when you need to.

Hope this is a help!

<<< I am travelling from Athens to Antalya and wanted to visit Carpaducci and or Pamukkle ( the caves) if possible on the way. <<<

how are you travelling from Athens to Antalya ?? by a direct flight ( via Istanbul ) or are you arriving Athens to Izmir ??

If Athens to Izmir..visit Selcuk and then you can catch a bus to Pamukkale..from Panukkale another bus to Antalya

for bus info;

Pamukkale

<<<From Antalya I am travelling back to Istanbul via Izmir and have a plan for that part.<<<

sorry makes no sense as there are direct flights from antalya to ıstanbul rather than having to double back to Izmir

There's a bit of a circuit most travelers do in Turkey. The circuit can be picked up/left off from wherever and can be done in about 2 weeks. Most people either fly into or out of Istanbul.

ISTANBUL - Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Basilica Cistern, Taksim, Topkapi Palace, Golden Horn, Grand Bazaar, Egyptian Spice Market. Stay in the Sultanahmet area – it’s close to everything.

SELCUK - Ephesus, Bascilica of St. John, House of Virgin Mary, Priene-Miletos-Didyma.

PAMUKKALE

KOYCEGIZ / DALYAN- mud baths and Saklikent Gorge.

FETHIYE

CIRALI / OLYMPOS – Olympos ruins, 4km beach Chimera Flame.

CAPPADOCCIA - fairy chimneys and underground cities.

back to ISTANBUL.

as you see this is a lot of moving around from place to place..so you will have to pick and choose the places that might interest you the most.

Do you plan to rent a car ?? or use the public bus transportation ?? this will make a bit of a difference as having your own car will give you more freedom...or flying from destination to destination will speed up the travel time between different area.

Thank you for all your assistance.

I will now fly Athens to Keseri an then fly from there to Antalya after visiting Capadoccio ,

I am concerned at how to get from Keyseri to my hotel in Capadoccio . Is ther a shuttle or do the hotels do something ?

I will then travel by bus from Antalya to istanbul with Kas, travertine caves. Ephesus and gallipopli on the way.
