Altinkum Beach

Hi

Thinking of going this year, so wonder if anyone can help please?

Is sea shallow (looks like it from photos) close to shore, or does it get deep quickly?

Is the beach crowded with sun loungers, or is there an area where you can lie on your own towel / bring your own umbrella?

And which part of the beach is likely to be least crowded in August (would like to try to find accomodation as close to quiet part as possible).

Thanks

The sea is really shallow you have to walk for a while before it gets deep it does not get deep all at once the second beach maybe your best bet for less crowded plus the area is away from the noise of dolphin square if you want to walk to main beach its only a 10 min walk you can lay on your own towel anywhere most do there are a few hotels to stay at this end but do your research as most are only 2 or 3 star private apartment or villa is a good idea as there is plenty available and most are well looked after with pools

The far end of Third Beach near the Marina May be your best bet for a bit of peace. As bomkaz says, second beach would be quieter than the main beach but for me, Third Beach is the most relaxing.Couple of small restaurants there is all.A shop tucked behind the sitesi too for ice creams, drinks, etc.

Thank you both - it looks great, so we'll see what deals we can find nearer the time.

Are drinks & food reasonably priced in Altinkum? Would prefer to eat Turkish food - hate eating English food when I'm in a different country! Any recommendations for restaurants used by the locals?

Thanks

If you make your way towards 2nd beach there is a traditional turkish restaurant and tea house - you will find them on the right hand side before the medusa nightclub and opposite where the camels are. It comes to life at night; most enjoyable.

There is also sehir locantas in didim town, near the mosque - nice to have lunch and people watch.

Happy holiday!
