Too many options!

My Husband and I are wanting to spend 3 days around the Fethiye area late May. We want a jam packed Itinerary while we are there to see and experience as much as we can and we need advice. The main things we want to do is:

12 Island cruise or Kekova

Dalyan Mud Baths and River

Rock Tombs

Swim

We would like a smaller resort, reasonably priced (3-4 Star), something with a little bit of action but also cute, quaint and charming.

We could fly into either Antalya or Dalaman from Kayseri and we are on our honeymoon.

Does anyone know what area to stay in to make the most of our time and any accommodation recommendations?

Hi redrosie!

If you fly to Dalaman are you going to rent a car or you use public transport?

You are involving quite a few things that are a bit away from Fethiye, if I were you I would opt for things to see, at least as interesting but much closer to Fethiye.

The boat trip is great, you can choose either 12 islands or Blue bays. My favorite is the Blue bays, more swimming is involved, 12 islands are a bit away from the harbour so there is more sailing to do.

There are small boats too and you could choose a private trip!

By the way, ther eis a lovely boat trip with captain Tommy from Ölüdeniz as well!

Fethiye has rocktombs, so you would not need to go to Dalyan. There are the most wonderful Lycian sites close to Fethiye, on the most remote and stunning spots: Pinara, Letoon (a bit less impressive) Sydima (stunning scenery) and Xantos, largest very interesting!

You could drive a loop, like first visit Saklikent gorge (50 mins), then down to Patara beach for a swim, then back to Fethiye you will pass the Lycian sites and you can choose any.

Then if you make it on the Tuesday, do not miss the market of Fethiye!!!

Then if you stay in Fethiye there is either the beach in Calis, but you are away from town, so Karagözler would be nicer, that is between the boat yard and the harbor.

Hope this helps for a start, good luck and have a great wedding!

Hi Redrosie, as you are on your honeymoon, ask your hubby and he may think staying in your room for three days may be a good idea !!!!!!

Congratulations to you both

p.s. the first 37 years are the worst.

Hi Redrosie and welcome to Fethiye.

Some very good points from VR.

Regarding what transport you will have - its also worthwhile to decide on what direction you will be coming from, as some of the places you mention such as kekova or Dalyan could be done en-route from or too the airport mentioned.

Hi Redrosie,

Stay in Oyster Residences in Oludeniz, it's very nice. As for trips, everyone will pick you up and drop you back, so that's never a problem. Fly into Dalaman, because Antalya is too far. You'll have a wonderful time!
